will contain


1) a Table of Contents which identifies in order every element of this portfolio;

2) a Forward in which you

a) introduce and briefly discuss the contents of this portfolio

b) discuss some things you have come to understand about poetry by reading, writing, and thinking about it during this class;

3) all of Your Poems*, revised, finished, polished, and perfectly typed;

*early drafts for each of your poems must be found at the rear of your folder

4) a Mini-Anthology of one poem each by six United States poets that you have found, typed, and introduced with a headnote;


Your Poetry Portfolio
will be contained by

5) your Manilla Folder, graphically designed to express your visual answer to the question , What is Poetry? Feel free to use colors, shapes, reasonable collage-style attachments, and very brief verbal elements.
