Why were you crying, dears?
No, no. A better question
Why do you still think you have lost?
Show your emotions but don't overdo it, now.
You well remember the smell of pecan pie in the little kitchen.
The chubby one always went for the crust,
And always knew when I cheated.
Yet it was all a blessing.
I viewed the world through clear eyes and a knowledge of what I believed in.
Coarse, hoarse yelling aside, it was life I loved
Most.
The strength, fortitude I showed you
Was a mere shade of all I felt for the world.
With what you have been given
Take it as a blessing:
Treat it with care,
But live it! Live it for all its worth.
Forget not what flows through your veins,
Your source of life.
Cherish it - for where mine own took me from one form,
It carries to you in yours.
