Matt Pratt

I was always separate from the
other kids in my school. And I didn't mind.
They were all so stupid, and they couldn't
see it. Drinking every Friday night, skipping
school, they were growing up to be just
like their parents. They would be stuck
in this town their whole lives, if they
didn't get too drunk and kill themselves
first. But I was going to be different.
I was healthy. I didn't drink. "Matt
Pratt can eat no fat," my neighbor always
said. I was smart, too. But my parents
worried about me. They thought that I
was intimidated by the other kids. Didn't they see,
I didn't want them as my
friends! Anyways, I decided to go
out with them one day to appease my
parents. We were having fun, actually,
for a while, kneeboarding in the bayou.
I died slowly though, as the boat driver, who had
been sneaking beers, drove too
close to the bank and I was impaled
on a cedar stump.
