Ralph Taylor

I came to Lansing, Michigan from Iowa after my father left our family,
My mother remarried and I didn't enjoy the company of my new family,
After school I went to war for my country which all my friends were doing,
I was one of the lucky ones to come back with only emotional injuries.
I married a nice gal named Betty and we started a family right away;
Our marriage had troubles like any other - especially since I had a hard time finding work.
We had seven beautiful kids and I saw them grow up and have kids of their own.
In the later years of my life, my health decreased probably from living so long in that damned house on Sparrow,
My relationship with my wife wasn't any better than my health as we constantly fought.
Then our eldest son died and it was difficult on me and my wife.
Well, by then my health was getting worse and when I took a nap one day I never woke up.
I was happy with my life, but my only wish is that my wife would let me rest in peace.
