newsflash: patrick's got a poem in the current number of the online
magazine shampoo... reminds me to unpack my own everyday umbrella...
for everyday protection... way to go, patrick...
unusual phenomena:
messages from strangers lately concerning that entry from last march about bob dylan's underwear commercial.
most have probably been stirred up by the recent re-broadcast
of a brief snippet (oo... oo... a pun) from the original ad...
this past tuesday during queer eye on bravo (yeah... we been
watching... who would pass up a chance to gawk at the chaos in
other folks' caves?)
anyway... the
first message appeared a few days BEFORE that showing... from
one who identified herself as a fifteen year old black kid who
really likes dylan's stuff... i really liked that one... out
of the blue... don't have a clue how she stumbled onto that obscure
entry...
then... from
tuesday night to yesterday there've been three or four others.
one wrote
Dylan did the underwear commercial.
He got the medal of honor...he's establishment. Maybe he likes
it, thinks it's funny. Maybe he can't think straight anymore.
Maybe he likes the girls. Who knows, who cares?
yeah... that's really how i'm
feeling about it... no big deal... and i'm a-wishin and a-hopin
that masked
and anonymous will show up in my neighborhood... though i
know it's not likely... the soundtrack is intriguing... like
a rolling stone as italian hip-hop... come una pietra scalciata...
works pretty well...
listening to
neil young... greendale... like it... kind of loose.. no real
rave-ups... a steady casual chunk-a-chunk beat... a busy little
narrative... about the greens of greendale... often in that plaintive
voice we loved and hated on tonight's the night... but the other
voices are in here too... tight little lyrics like

living in the internet

no one has heard yet
but there's no
need to worry
there's no reason to fuss
just go on about your work now
leave the driving to us
and we'll be
watching you
no matter what you do
and you can do your part
by watching others too
you get the picture...
it's about us... neil's take on the day... easy to spot the bad
guys... they kick cats... and worse... right now i'm trying to
load the greendale section of neil's garage... but my clunky old
phone hookup is gonna take forever... if you've got something
faster, check it out.
more news: i
proofed the two pages for my indexing article... i guess they're
really going to publish... in the october number of The Indexer... looks pretty good... but i sound like a poop...
o well...
at this moment
we've got our first home football game going on... i'm wishing
them well from up here in my roost...
the great giveaway:
sunset boulevard is on the wing... but stay tuned, carpet newts,
another freebie's on the way...

all news, as it is called, is gossip, and they who edit it and
read it are old women over their tea.
