took a little time yesterday to rip lots of mint out of the garden ... one of the most invasive critters i've ever seen ... i like how my hands get all stained & minty for days after no matter how hard i scrub ...

& even the most ravenous translucent deer miss a few tulips ... now & then ... here's a peek at one of the survivors up close ...

prom day ... prom night ... we had half a school day with dismissal at noon ... twenty minute classes ... i began endgame with the seniors (provoking more laughter in some classes than it ever has before) (maybe they're still a bit slaphappy from the three-hour exam yesterday) (maybe clov's first line just hits their moment perfectly: Finished, it's finished, nearly finished, it must be nearly finished.) ... sophs continued their fishbowl discussions of paired poems ... they do it well .. so it's prom night & i don't gots to go ... that's a good thing ... time was i'd enjoy it ... but the night gets long ... geezerish ... for sure ... better a quiet night with a book and a cat

Life is this simple: We are living in a world that is absolutely transparent and the Divine is shining through it all the time. This is not just a nice story or fable. It is true. Thomas Merton

though i was hoping it would be handy to convert this blug to at some point ... some day

There were those around me who didn't 'get it'. They keep shouting for him to play 'Born in the USA', but he was much more focused on bringing this message of resurrection and perseverance to the people.
